BIRTH PLACE: Northern Hokianga

ACHIEVEMENTS

  •  Founding president of Maori womens' welfare league
  • Organised a major survey of Maori housing that alerted government to take action in areas of need
  • Led the Maori Land March from Te Hapua to Wellington to acknowledge and redress all the wrong doings on Maori since the treaty was signed
"I WILL DIE FIGHTING FOR MY PEOPLE!"

    wow i didnt get much info out of this at all when did she die who was her tribe what is she famous for.

      she died at age 98, in 1994 her tribe is Ngati Manawa and she is famous for doing alot of things to help out the maori people.
